Fall Restoration Work Days at The Grove

THE EVENT ON DECEMBER 1 HAS BEEN CANCELED. Make a positive change by assisting in restoration efforts by such as removing non-native plants or collection seed. Please bring work gloves if you have them and wear sturdy shoes and long pants. Volunteers under 15 must participate with an adult. Registration is not necessary, but RSVPs are appreciated! Everything Illinois Birthday Celebration

Have fun this Winter at The Grove’s free drop-in activities for all ages.

Happy 206th birthday to the State of Illinois! Stop by anytime between 10 am and 4 pm to learn about our state’s various symbols, animals, landmarks and history. For all ages; children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult. No registration required.

4 Nations Cup 3v3 Hockey Tournament

Dynamites and mites: Join us for a fun “4 Nations Cup” 3v3 tournament on Saturday and Sunday, November 30- December 1, from 12-2 p.m. Contact Sylvain Turcotte at sylvain.turcotte@glenviewparks.org for registration information.

Winterfest 2025

Celebrate all things winter at Winterfest at the Glenview Community Ice Center. Watch triple-header hockey games between Glenbrook South Titan Hockey Club and Loyola Academy Hockey Club and see the Glenview Stars Hockey Association take on the Honeybaked Hockey Club. Enjoy a figure skating exhibition. Check out the Ice Center’s Ice Bumper Cars and participate in afternoon family public sessions or an evening glow stick public session. Enjoy food and drink at North Branch, and much more!  All proceeds benefit the Glenview Park Foundation.

3rd Annual Festival of Trees Holiday Event

Presented by Light Keeper Pro

Check out the beautifully decorated trees in the hallways of Park Center and vote for your favorites. Visit and take pictures with Santa Claus and The Grinch. Plus, enjoy holiday carolers from Glenbrook South Chamber Singers and The Caroling Party. Children will enjoy crafts and several activities.

Kids Night Out Valentine Friends (ages 4-6)

Robert's Yukon Adventure Day

Illinois’ first naturalist, Robert Kennicott, grew up at The Grove and made two expeditions to the Yukon, in 1859 and 1865. Experience what his life was like in the frigid territory.

  • Watch dog sledding teams from Adopt-a-Husky.
  • Learn about winter ecology and animal adaptations.
  • Try snow shoeing & snow experiments
  • Participate in an indoor snowball fight
  • Hot cocoa and s’mores by the campfire (available for purchase, cash only.)

Princess Skate

Skate with a princess and take pictures in front of our enchanted photo booth. Those who dress in princess or prince attire will receive a prize. Admission is $10 per skater, or use your season pass, $4 skate rental. Ages 5 and under skate free with a paying adult.

1920s Film- Speedy

Join us for a night of popcorn, laughs and tons of fun watching the 1928 original silent movie comedy – Speedy. The Farm will provide the popcorn along with an educational commentary before the film begins. The fee is $4 per person. Sign up in advance online or pay at the door.  See you at the Farm!

Christmas Candlelight Tours

Step back in time to discover the enchanting sights and sounds of a traditional 19th century family Christmas during this candlelight event. Guests will be ushered through the festively adorned rooms of the 1856 Kennicott House by a historically-dressed guide. Tours end with a visit and small gift from Santa. One-hour time slots are available from 4-6:45 pm.

Holiday Exhibition

Show off your skating skills! The exhibition features soloists, duets, trios, and performances by the Glenview Blades Synchronized Skating Teams. Plus, skaters in Snowplow Sam 1-3 and Basic 1 & 2 will shine in a follow-the-leader group number.

Winter Dance Production “ONCE UPON A TIME”

Winter Restoration Work Days at Fuller Air Station Prairie

Assist in the restoration efforts at Kent Fuller Air Station Prairie by helping with a variety of restoration activities such as removing non-native invasive plants or collecting seed. Bring work gloves if you have them. For families and individuals Ages 8+. Volunteers under 15 must participate with an adult. Volunteers under 18 must have a waiver signed by a parent or guardian. Experience the Farm’s first murder mystery for ages 14+! Spend your Saturday night enjoying hors d’oeuvres and mocktails as you play detective to solve the mystery. Imagine it’s the 1920’s and the good times are rolling at the Farm as Thomas Wagner and his closest supporters celebrate his re-election as Northfield Township Commissioner – that is until things take a turn for the MOO-Cabre and a dead body is found! Is there a murderer among the party guests?

Read, Feed and Encourage

Join Historic Wagner Farm for a day celebrating kind acts, community service and the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

Bring non-perishable food items and books to the farm and take part in a book exchange. Write words of encouragement to travel with donated items. Food items will be donated to the Northfield Township Food Pantry and books left over after the exchange will go to Bernie’s Book Bank and the Glenview Public Library Used Bookstore. No registration is necessary, and it is free to attend!

Park Center Preschool Open House

Stop by to meet the teachers, tour the classrooms and get all of your questions answered. There will be waitlist forms available. Park Center Preschool and Childcare, ages 2-5, is offered year-round – Mondays through Fridays, 7 a.m.-6 p.m.

"NOON" Year's Eve Party!

Can’t make it until midnight? Celebrate the “NOON YEAR” instead! The main gym will have bouncy inflatables, DJ, dancing, games and other fun activities. We finish the event with a massive balloon drop.
 
Parents are FREE and MUST accompany their child. Advanced registration is required by 9 a.m. on December 30; NO day of admission at the door.

Skate into the “noon” year with your friends and family during a festive public session! Enjoy crafts, lively music, and giveaways.

Take the Ice Bumper Cars for a spin from 10 a.m.-11:30 a.m.! Admission for ages 6+ is $10 for a 10-minute ride.
