The pedestrian bridge that spans from Central Parkway (Raleigh Road) over the West Fork North Branch of the Chicago River is maintained by the Glenview Park District. The Park District will be replacing the bridge this fall with support from a $225,000 “Invest in Cook” grant from the Cook County Department of Transportation and Highways. Construction on the bridge will begin on October 1, 2024. The existing bridge is being removed and new concrete footings will be installed. Then the new pre-fabricated bridge can be installed and the bridge concrete decking and approach sidewalks will be poured. This work is expected to take approximately three months, with anticipated opening of the bridge in mid-December 2024.
