America Recycles Day

Recycling is important! Learn how to increase your recycling habits at home and work. Enjoy family activities and crafts. Learn about recycling and participate in family fun at this free, all-ages event.

 

Pumpkin Smash and Bash 

Bring your carved Halloween pumpkin to Flick Park and have fun smashing your pumpkin and turning it into compost that will help nourish plants in the spring.  We’ll even have fun rolling pumpkins down the sled hill!  Note: Remove any candles and glow sticks beforehand. Non-carved pumpkins will not be accepted. FREE Admission! The event is weather permitting and may be subject to cancellation.

Fall Restoration Work Days at The Grove

THE EVENT ON NOVEMBER 3 HAS BEEN CANCELED. Make a positive change by assisting in restoration efforts by such as removing non-native plants or collection seed. Please bring work gloves if you have them and wear sturdy shoes and long pants. Volunteers under 15 must participate with an adult. Registration is not necessary, but RSVPs are appreciated! Workout Revolution with Billy Blanks

Harvest Supper at Historic Wagner Farm

Enjoy a one-of-a-kind dining experience with your family and friends featuring great food, conversation and lots of fun! The special evening features a multi-course dinner cooked by Chef Paula using local produce and proteins grown and raised on the Farm. Beer and wine is included in your ticket price. Unique menu items include Moroccan lamb meatballs, kale salad with apple Dijon vinaigrette, red wine braised brisket, smashed potato medley, apple strudel and more. NEW! As an extra treat, guests will enjoy a wagon ride tour of the Farm.

Candy Cane Holiday Bazaar

Start your holiday shopping early! Stop by Park Center’s lobby for the East Wing’s annual Candy Cane Holiday Bazaar. It’s free to attend and everyone is welcome! Check out the craft room and more than 27 booths with heirloom crafts, handmade gifts, beautiful artwork and much more. Many items are created by East Wing crafters plus talented local vendors. Grove Literary Society

In the tradition of the original Grove Literary Society established by Robert Kennicott and his father Dr. John, The Grove Heritage Association hosts a new book club that focuses on books about the natural history to better understand where and how we live. Richardson Park Pickleball Input Meeting

Richardson Park has been identified as a potential site for new pickleball courts as part of the Park District’s Pickleball Feasibility Study. We are inviting Richardson Park neighbors to join us to provide feedback on design concepts as part of our planning process. This meeting will be held at Park Center in Room 101.
