Originally built at the Glenview Naval Air Station during World War II and named after renowned Navy Captain Richard A. Schram, the Schram Memorial Chapel used to serve as a house of worship for thousands of servicemen and women passing through this military base.

After the Naval Air Station closed, this historic non-denominational chapel was moved from its original location and restored by the Village of Glenview and Kimball Hill Builders. Now owned by the Glenview Park District, the Schram Memorial Chapel is available for rental by groups, individuals and organizations. Its rich history and outstanding religious structure is an incredibly special setting for milestones and memorable events.

availability and rates

Schram Memorial Chapel is available year round, for day, evening, weekday, and weekend events.

  • Book up to two years in advance.
  • 15% discount when another Glenview Park District reception site is booked for the same day.
  • A $300 refundable security deposit is due with each 3 hour package.
  • A fee deposit of 50% is required to hold the date in addition to the security deposit.
  • If booking by the hour, a two hour minimum is required.
