FREE Family Fun!

Bring your carved Halloween pumpkin to Flick Park and have fun smashing your pumpkin and turning it into compost that will help nourish plants in the spring. We’ll even have fun rolling pumpkins down the sled hill!  

Note: Remove any candles and glow sticks beforehand. Non-carved pumpkins will not be accepted. FREE Admission! The event is weather permitting and may be subject to cancellation.

Public Input Meeting: Planning for Sleepy Hollow Park

Join us for a design review meeting for the community that will be held at the Sleepy Hollow Park fieldhouse. Review schematic designs and provide feedback to assist in planning for Sleepy Hollow Park.

The Glenview Park District continues to advance park improvements and planning goals defined in our Comprehensive Master Plan to maintain the high quality of park and recreation services for our community.

OAKtober Tree Trot

Join us on a special guided trail walk led by Village of Glenview’s Arborist and Natural Resource Manager, Robyn Flakne, as she focuses on the native trees of Illinois growing at The Grove, especially our mighty oaks. Please meet on the Interpretive Center porch at 9:15 am.

Folk Fest

Local history comes to life at Folk Fest! Celebrate autumn at The Grove with folk music, hayrides and more. Shop unique items from local vendors and artisans. Dine on hearty pork and bean stew, corn, caramel apples, slices of pie, popcorn and apple cider in the outdoor dining hall (additional purchase required). Explore a Native American Indian longhouse, take in the fall colors on a nature walk along the picturesque trails and immerse yourself in the history of Glenview as costumed interpreters relive local history.

Get tickets online in advance and select your admission time: 11 a.m., 1 p.m., or 3 p.m. Admission is $5 per person and $1 for children under age 12. Admission increases the day of the event.

Avoca West- Park Planning Meeting

The Glenview Park District invites you to share your input on proposed concepts for a new neighborhood park. The District recently purchased a 1-acre parcel from Avoca West Elementary School, located at the southwest corner of the property, and is considering a “Tot Lot” featuring play equipment for young children along with a pathway and seating. Join us at Avoca West Elementary School, 235 Beech Drive, on Wednesday, March 11, 2026, at 6:00 PM. A brief presentation will begin at 6:00 PM, followed by time to review plans, ask questions, and share your thoughts. If you cannot attend, you may email comments to Ken.Wexler@glenviewparks.org.

Christmas Candlelight Tours

Step back in time and discover the enchanting sights and sounds of a traditional 19th century family Christmas. Guests will be ushered through the festively adorned, candlelit rooms of the 1856 Kennicott House by a historically-dressed guide while stories of Victorian holiday traditions are shared in each decorated room. Tours end with a visit and small gift from Santa.

Each family member must register separately.

One-hour time slots are available from 5:30-6:45 pm.

Indigenous Peoples’ Day honors the rich histories, cultures and contributions of indigenous American peoples. Celebrate this meaningful day at The Grove by visiting our Native American Village and touring the Long House to learn about the history of the Indigenous peoples and their history in our region.

Try interactive activities like grinding corn, using a bow drill to start a fire, and playing Native American games. You’ll also get to see real tools and objects used by Native American communities in the past. Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult. No registration required.

Robert's Yukon Adventure Day

Are you ready for an adventure? Illinois’ first naturalist, Robert Kennicott, grew up at The Grove and made two expeditions to the Yukon, in 1859 and 1865. Bring your family to experience Robert’s journey north and discover what his life was like in this frigid territory.

Watch dog sledding demonstrations from Adopt-a-Husky, learn about winter ecology and how animals adapt to the cold, and try hands-on snow experiments and snowshoeing (weather permitting). Kids can join in on an indoor snowball fight, and families can warm up by the campfire with hot cocoa and s’mores available for purchase (cash only). Plus, enjoy even more seasonal fun throughout the event!

Fish Release Day

Make a splash in the environment as you help us restock Lake Glenview. You’ll get a bucket of native fish to send down a slide right into their new home! It’s hands-on, a little splashy and o-fish-ally one of the most fun ways to give back to nature. The best part? This fin-tastic fun is free!

Live fish and buckets will be provided, while supplies last. All ages are welcome. Dress for the weather and for wet conditions.

Meet at the Lake Glenview Boat Launch area. Parking is available in the lots along West Lake Ave. (between Patriot Blvd. and Lehigh Ave.) The boat launch is accessible from either lot via gravel paths.

Baked goods and hot beverages will be available for purchase while you wait, courtesy of Glenview Sunrise Rotary Club.

1920s Film Showing “The Gold Rush”

Get Your Historic Wagner Farm’s 2026 CSA Membership!

For the 8th year, Historic Wagner Farm is pleased to offer shares in its Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) program.
 
As a CSA member, you will receive different varieties of produce each week from end of June to early October.  At Wagner Farm we grow over 100 different varieties of fruits and vegetables, and each basket will be filled with our high quality, seasonal produce.

We’ll kick things off with a tasting of local brews and casual conversation about deer before heading out on a guided twilight hike in search of signs of our forest’s most iconic dwellers and their nighttime habits. Turkey Skate

Gobble up the fun at the coolest place in Glenview! Celebrate Thanksgiving with a special Turkey Skate, the day before the big feast. Spend Wednesday on the ice for public skate, youth open hockey and ice bumper cars. Costumes, cozy sweaters and turkey hats are encouraged!

Public Skate → 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Free with a Season Public Skate Pass or $10 per skater. Children 3 and under skate free with a paying adult. Skates: $4, or FREE when you bring a non-perishable food item to donate as our thank you for giving back.

Youth Open Hockey → 3:10-4:30 p.m. $12 per skater, ages 16 years and under only.

Glenview Concert Band : Spring Concert 2026

"NOON" Year's Eve Party! SOLD OUT

The event is SOLD OUT!

Can’t make it until midnight? Celebrate the “NOON YEAR” instead! The main gym will have bouncy inflatables, DJ, dancing, games and other fun activities. We finish the event with a massive balloon drop.

Parents are FREE and MUST accompany their child. Advanced registration is required by 12 p.m. on Dec. 30; NO day of admission at the door.

Celebrate all things winter at Winterfest at the Glenview Community Ice Center. Watch triple-header hockey games between Glenbrook South Titan Hockey Club and Loyola Academy Hockey Club. Enjoy a public skating session, take a spin on the bumper cars and, new this year, enjoy whiskey and wine tastings, live music and beginner skating lessons!
