FREE! Outdoor Movie Night: A Minecraft Movie

Bring your blankets, lawn chairs and favorite snacks for a special screening of A Minecraft Movie – an adventurous journey where four misfits are suddenly pulled through a mysterious portal into a bizarre, cubic wonderland that thrives on imagination.

In case of rain, the movie will move indoors to the Glenview Library’s Community Room and become a ticketed event.

Restoration Work Day

Make a positive change by assisting in restoration efforts such as removing non-native plants or collecting seed. Please bring work gloves if you have them and wear sturdy shoes and long pants. Volunteers under 15 must participate with an adult. Registration is necessary.

Tomato Fest: A Juicy Good Time Awaits!

Explore the many sides of this versatile fruit (or is it a vegetable?) through tastings, games, art, wagon rides and hands-on activities.

– Free activities: a tomato-themed scavenger hunt and games, live demos, photo booth and a community-based art project.
– Tasting tickets available onsite for grilled cheese with tomato soup, less traditional tomato-based recipes and a special Bloody Mary bar (alcohol optional!).
– Educational experiences about tomatoes.

Cops and Bobbers

This time, getting caught red-handed means reeling in the biggest fish! Join the Glenview Police Department for an afternoon of bobbers, bait and big catches. Police officers and park district staff will be on hand to help kids bait hooks, cast lines and reel in fish.

Prizes awarded for the biggest fish in each age group:

1. 5 Years and under
2. 6-8 Years
3. 9-12 Years
4. 13-15 Years

Bring your own gear and bait or borrow from our limited supply of free loaner poles and bait for purchase, while supplies last. Children must be accompanied by a registered adult. Dress for the weather and come ready for a good time outdoors!

Bring work gloves if you have them. For families and individuals ages 8+. Volunteers under 15 must participate with an adult. Volunteers under 18 must have a waiver signed by a parent or guardian.
