Reservations are an added option at Flick Park and Gallery Park, but are not required – if a court is not reserved, the court will be available for open play.

Reservations are limited to 1 hour per person, per day. Reservations can be made up until four hours before the start of a timeslot. Pickleball players/groups may not reserve consecutive blocks of time without prior written consent of Park District staff.

Fees

  • Residents & Fitness Center Members – $12/hour
  • Nonresidents – $20/hour

Reservation Priority

  • Residents – reservations can be made 7 days in advance
  • Park Center Health and Fitness Members – reservations can be made 6 days in advance
  • Nonresidents who are not Fitness Members – reservations can be made 24 hours in advance

You can make and cancel reservations using the CourtReserve app from your smartphone, or from a desktop computer. To make a reservation, you must first create an account. To use your phone, download the CourtReserve app from your app store. When you open the app, search for “Glenview Park District Pickleball” to begin your account set up. To use your computer, click here.

To Set Up Your Account: 

  • Click “Create Account”
  • Complete required fields
  • A Glenview Park District staff member will assign resident or membership status, if applicable, within 1-2 business days
  • You will receive an email notification after your account is approved, and account becomes active

How to Reserve an Open Court Time:

  1. Click “Book a Court”
  2. App: slide the screen left to right to view dates and times available for selection; Desktop: choose date by using the arrows (top left), or by clicking the date at the top-left portion of the page
  3. Available timeframes will show the word “reserve,” select an open timeframe to create a reservation, then click “Save” at the bottom of the screen to confirm the reservation
  4. You will receive an email confirmation

How to Cancel a Reservation:

  1. App: select the menu icon at the bottom-right portion of your screen; Desktop: click on the menu icon at the top-right portion of your screen a web browser (three lines)
  2. Find date & time of upcoming reservation you wish to cancel, click “Details” button on the right
  3. Click red “Cancel Reservation” button on the reservation details screen
  4. Click “Cancel Reservation” on the next page to confirm the cancellation

The park district has 21 outdoor pickleball courts, 10 of which are dedicated courts and 11 dual-lined tennis/pickleball courts.

The reservation system will be in effect from the day after Memorial Day to the day before Labor Day at 2 of the 6 dedicated pickleball courts at Flick Park and all 4 dedicated pickleball courts at Gallery Park. All other outdoor courts will be available for drop-in play. Reservations will be available through the CourtReserve website or by downloading the CourtReserve app on your smart phone.

Pickleball continues to be an expanding sport and in high demand in Glenview! In Spring 2023, four new dedicated pickleball courts were opened on the northern end of Gallery Park. The Glenview Park District is currently undergoing a feasibility study to explore site locations for expanding pickleball courts. This process will include public meetings and a survey so we can hear more from you about what you would like to see.

The park district offers all kinds of pickleball opportunities. Programs, leagues and tournaments vary by season. See program descriptions below!

Beginner Pickleball (Level 1.0 – 2.0)

Players starting out at this level have minimal knowledge of the game and may have taken a lesson or two. Learning basic rules such has how to serve and keep score. This person has difficulty with the non-volley zone, a.k.a. the kitchen and does not have court awareness.

Beginner/Novice (Level 2.5 – 3.0)

A player is able to serve “in” more regularly, knows the two-bounce rule and where to stand on the court during serve, serve receive and general play. Mastering keeping score, working on form for ground strokes, developing accuracy and beginning to approach the non-volley zone to hit volleys.

Intermediate Pickleball (Level 3.2 – 3.8)

This player demonstrates a broad knowledge of the rules, gets a high percentage of serves in, can serve and return deep into the court, able to hit weak side opponent often and demonstrates strategies during games. Works with partner in communicating, court coverage and moving to the net. With better accuracy is able to execute lobs, forehand/backhand ground strokes, overheads, net volleys and sustained dinking along with using drop shots.

Advanced (Level 3.9 – 4.0)

Anticipate opponent shots resulting in good court position, primarily plays offensively, controls and places serves and return of serves to best advantage, puts strategy into play in game with consistent varying shots to create competitive advantage. Works well with partner – easily switches court positions when needed and comfortable with the non-volley zone. Teamwork with partner to control the line, keep opponents back and drive them off balance. Able to block volleys, has good footwork and move laterally, backward and forward with ease.

Advanced + (4.1+)

Very high skill level. Proficient in all areas of the game including accuracy and consistency. Works smoothly with a partner and able to strategize effortlessly against opponent.

Leagues

Leagues are offered for various skill levels from Beginner to Advanced. You’ll find your own partner and sign up as a team. Each match will consistent of 3 games played to 11, win by 2. Games are played weekly following a schedule, ending in a tournament with top teams.

Group Lessons

Starting at beginner level to intermediate these classes will work on your game including stroke production, score-keeping and strategy. As you move up in levels, you will continue to build on fundamental learned in the process.

Private Instruction

Private lessons are available upon request. For private lessons, reach out to the Park Center front desk at 847-724-5670. You will complete a private lesson form and be paired with a pickleball instructor based on mutual availability. During nicer weather months instruction will be outside at our dedicated courts; in cold weather months instruction will be held indoors in the Park Center main gym as availability allows.

Dedicated courts will be available for play from dawn to sunset, seven days per week.

Prime Season

Bank of six (6) dedicated pickleball courts, the hours of play are 7am-8pm on weekdays and 8am-8pm on weekends. Courts will remain unlocked and available for play from 8am until 8pm Memorial Day, Independence Day and Labor Day. Outside these hours, the six-court dedicated bank will be locked and play prohibited.

Off Season

Only two nets will be left up for play, weather and conditions permitting. The Flick Park dedicated courts will be available for play from dawn to sunset, seven days per week. Courts will not be locked. Courts will not be available when snow, ice and/or water are on the courts. No salting, shoveling or ice scrapping of courts allowed.

Throughout the year, hours of play are dawn to sunset, seven days per week. Courts will not be locked.

Gallery Park – Dedicated Pickleball Courts

Shoulder Season

Dedicated courts will be available for play from dawn to sunset, seven days per week.

Prime Season

Bank of four (4) dedicated pickleball courts hours of play are dawn to sunset seven days per week. Reservations are available on all four (4) courts with exceptions during set aside time for programming and private instruction. Courts will remain unlocked and available for play dawn to sunset Memorial Day, Independence Day and Labor Day.

Off Season

Dual-Lined Courts – Listed Parks

Throughout the year, hours of play at Rugen, Richardson, Indian Ridge and Crowley Parks’ dual-lined pickleball/tennis courts are dawn to sunset, seven days per week. Courts will not be locked.

For Flick Park’s dedicated courts, the six-court dedicated bank will be locked and play prohibited outside the hours of play. Gallery Park courts will remain open and unlocked.

Dual-lined courts will remain unlocked year-round.

If you are on the courts during hours of play, all gates are unlocked which allow for four points of ingress/egress. If you are on the courts when the gates are locked, there is a green button that can be pressed to open the southeast gate from the inside. Glenview Police and Fire Departments have access to a “Knox Box” (a locked box with keys inside for the adjacent facility) outside the gates with keys to unlock the gates if needed in case of any emergency.

Yes, rules are posted to govern the use of Park District courts. Pickleball players will self-monitor the rules and use of courts. For the reservation system at Flick and Gallery Park, if players cannot resolve issues, they can utilize the District contact information listed.

Drop-in play is available at both Flick Park and Gallery Park designated courts and all outdoor dual-lined courts throughout the week. Reservations are available throughout the week as well, however, if no reservations are made, the courts will be available for drop-in play.

Monday – Friday, 9am-12pm & Wednesday – Friday, 5pm-8pm

Yes, a racking system utilizing either the paddle saddle or the tennis rack-up unit is available at the outdoor courts.

Reservations are NOT required but are available on two of the dedicated courts at Flick Park and all four dedicated courts at Gallery Park during prime season only. If a pickleball court is not in use, it may be used for drop-in/open play. The courts will be available for open play on Memorial Day, Independence Day and Labor Day.

All other outdoor courts are drop-in/open play.

Yes, we offer lessons to all levels. Lessons are offered throughout the year.

During Prime Season, Flick Park’s dedicated pickleball courts will be open for play beginning at 7 a.m. on weekdays and 8 a.m. on weekends and will stay open until sunset (8:30 p.m.). These later summer start times are designed to reduce early morning noise due to the courts’ close proximity to neighboring homes. Dual-lined courts will be open from sunrise to sunset.
