Get Out and Go Treasure Hunt

Get the family out and go on a nature-inspired treasure hunt! Follow the treasure map to search for hidden clues while exploring the natural areas of Gallery Park and Kent Fuller Air Station Prairie. Walk or ride your bicycle from Park Center to Air Station Prairie and earn stamps for answering questions about discoveries you make along the way.

Pick up your treasure map at Park Center any time between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. The Hunt takes one hour to complete, and the event concludes at 3 p.m.

Please note: The scavenger hunt ends at a different location than it starts. If you parked at the starting point (Park Center), you’ll need to walk back to your car after finishing. (Route distance: 0.84 miles one way; Round trip: 1.68 miles)

Summer Camp Parent Information Meeting

Are your kids involved in summer camp with the park district? Join us for the information meeting to learn everything you will need to know about this summer session, and ask any questions. At the end, you will also be able to meet with your child’s Camp Director!

Join us for a family-friendly summer concert series Wednesday nights, June 4-August 6 (No concert July 2). From high-energy cover bands to amazing original artists, every Wednesday is a new reason to dance, sing along or just chill under the evening sky. Bring your lawn chairs, blankets and a few snacks to share!

Note: In case of rain, we’re moving the party indoors to Park Center.

CANCELED Hops & Hike: Under the Strawberry Moon

Sip, stroll, and soak in the magic of the Strawberry Full Moon. Enjoy tastings of local craft brews as you hike moonlit trails, guided by the soft glow above. Cozy up by the campfire with a drink in hand, nibble on snacks, and discover the nocturnal wildlife that awakens under the full moon’s light.

Summer Restoration Work Day at The Grove

For ages 8+, volunteers under age 15 must participate with an adult.

Collect seeds or remove non-native, invasive plants to make way for native wildflowers, grasses and trees. Bring work gloves if you have them and meet at the Interpretive Center. RSVPs are appreciated so we can so we can plan appropriate Work Day activities. Work parties may be cancelled due to inclement weather.

Color Hike with Pride

Have fun  at The Grove’s a Color Hike with Pride walk. Children under age 12 need to be accompanied by an adult. We look forward to seeing your smiling faces!

Kindness Rock Painting

Celebrate kindness, creativity, and community! Drop in to paint your own colorful kindness rock and help color murals that promote love and understanding. Coloring Murals will be on display through the end of June, come see the kids wonderful drawings.

Yappy Hour Series: Puppy Field Day (dog park members only)

Test your dog’s skills at our agility course and beat the summer heat in the water play area. There will be a tennis ball launcher giveaway and Kona Ice will be serving their refreshing shaved ice.

• Cheer on local 4H students in friendly animal competitions. Meet ag pros from Midwest Dairy, Illinois Beef & more. Enjoy crafts & hands-on activities. Grab farm-fresh eats like breakfast burritos, chicken & waffles, and more!
