Join us for the best celebration on the North Shore! Our bike parade begins at Jackman Park at 11:20 a.m., followed by the full parade at 11:30 a.m. which steps off at the corner of Harlem and Glenview Road. Join us at Gallery Park at 6 p.m. for a DJ dance party, food vendors, live music and a fireworks finale to cap the evening.

Grove Literary Society

In the tradition of the original Grove Literary Society established by Robert Kennicott and his father Dr. John, The Grove Heritage Association hosts a new book club that focuses on books about the natural history to better understand where and how we live. Unplug Illinois Day of Play

Ditch your electronic devices and enjoy a day of unplugged activities at The Grove celebrating the power recreation has to create healthier, happier communities. Play family lawn games, chalk the walk with pictures and happy thoughts, fly a kite, take a night hike & enjoy s’mores, and more!

Sponsored by the Illinois Park and Recreation Association, Unplug Illinois Day is a statewide initiative that encourages people to get out, unplug, play and engage with one another. Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult.

Summer Restoration Work Day at The Grove

For ages 8+, volunteers under age 15 must participate with an adult.

Collect seeds or remove non-native, invasive plants to make way for native wildflowers, grasses and trees. Bring work gloves if you have them and meet at the Interpretive Center. RSVPs are appreciated so we can so we can plan appropriate Work Day activities. Work parties may be cancelled due to inclement weather.

Evenings on The Farm

Enjoy everything summer evenings are supposed to be at Historic Wagner Farm. Come out to the farm from 5-8 p.m. on special Fridays in June, July and August to enjoy extended hours at the Heritage Center and Sweets and Treats Ice Cream Parlor. Bring a picnic and enjoy entertainment from community performers, tour the farmhouse and take a stroll on the farm. No registration is required.

Assist in the restoration efforts at Kent Fuller Air Station Prairie by helping with a variety of restoration activities such as removing non-native invasive plants or collecting seed. Bring work gloves if you have them. For families and individuals Ages 8+. Volunteers under 15 must participate with an adult. Volunteers under 18 must have a waiver signed by a parent or guardian. To receive an application/waiver in advance please contact grove.volunteers@glenviewparks.org. Work days may be cancelled due to inclement weather.
