Fall is the perfect time to discover the fascinating world of spiders! Join us at The Grove as we explore why these eight-legged creatures are so active this season. Through hands-on activities, fun facts, and take-home crafts, little ones will learn about spider anatomy, web styles, and what makes arachnids so unique. Designed for curious kids ages 3-5 with a caregiver.

At The Grove • Time Slots available: 5 p.m. – 8 p.m. Gather up your friends and family and climb aboard our hay wagon for a fun-filled journey to explore The Grove. 10:30 a.m. – 12 p.m. at Community Bark West (Free with dog park membership) • Treat your pup to some special Halloween treats and toys while enjoying a drink from Tom’s Coffee Truck. Snap a photo in front of our spooky backdrop and participate in a costume contest for a chance to win a free dog park membership for next year!

2-3:30 p.m. at Air Station Prairie • The prairie is bustling with life, even when its residents are hidden among the tall grasses. Join us for an exploration of the creatures that call the prairie home. Search for insects, uncover animal clues, touch real animal pelts and artifacts, and discover how every plant and animal plays an important role in the prairie ecosystem.

7-8:45 p.m. at Historic Wagner Farm • ‘Celebrate the spooky season by grabbing some popcorn and settling in for a screening of the legendary 1922 vampire film, “Nosferatu.” Popcorn will be provided, along with educational commentary before the film begins. Walk-ins are welcome at the door!

6:30 – 8:30 p.m. at the Glenview Community Ice Center • What’s spooky, chilly and tons of fun? Glen-BOO Community Ice Center! Dress up in your costume and enjoy a Halloween-themed cosmic skate with special lights and glow sticks under the disco ball. Admission: Free with a Season Public Skate Pass or $10 per skater. Children 3 and under skate free with a paying adult. Skates: $4, or FREE when you come dressed in costume

5:30 – 8 p.m. at the Park Center (2400 Chestnut Ave.) • Get Ready for a Spooktacular Night! Calling all little ghouls, goblins and skeletons (ages 2–12)! Put on your favorite costume and join us for a fang-tastic evening of fright-free fun at our indoor/outdoor Halloween bash! Costumes are encouraged and smiles are guaranteed. Parents must accompany children.
