central parkway bridge construction
The original Central Parkway Bridge has been removed. The schedule of key milestones are as follows: early August: site mobilization, erosion control, and bridge demolition; late August to mid-September: installation of pilings, abutment framing, and grading for new paths; late-September to mid-October: bridge delivery and installation; concrete work for the bridge deck and pathways; final restoration and project completion. We appreciate your patience and support as we move forward with improving pedestrian connectivity in the community. Check back here for further updates as construction progresses. The pedestrian bridge that spans from Central Parkway (Raleigh Road) over the West Fork North Branch of the Chicago River is maintained by the Glenview Park District. The Park District will be replacing the bridge with support from a $225,500 “Invest in Cook” grant from the Cook County Department of Transportation and Highways and $100,000 from the Village of Glenview.
