After a month-long national search, The Glenview Park District announces Steve Neill as its new Division Director of Recreation and Museum Services. Neill will oversee operations at Park Center, Aquatics, Historic Wagner Farm and The Grove. His term begins September 18.

Neill has 28 years of professional experience in park districts, most notably with the Arlington Heights Park District. Neill has served as the Superintendent of Recreation Facilities for the last four years in Arlington Heights, where he supervised two indoor tennis clubs and managed the successful design and construction of the Arlington Ridge Center, featuring a large gymnasium, fitness studios, and an indoor aquatic center.

“I am excited to join the Glenview Park District and eager to bring my passion and energy to Glenview,” said Steve Neill. “I look forward to working with the talented team here to continue delivering diverse and enriching programs that align with the Park District’s core values. Together, we will create engaging opportunities and experiences for the community while maintaining the high standards of excellence that Glenview is known for.”

Neill has been on the Board of Directors for the Illinois Park and Recreation Association (IPRA) and on the National Recreation and Park Association (NRPA) Aquatic Board. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science from Northeastern Illinois University with a concentration in government and public administration. He is also a graduate of the NRPA Aquatic Management School, IPRA Professional Development School, IPRA Leadership Academy, and a mentor in the IPRA Pro-Connect Program. Neill is the recipient of the IPRA Facility Management Section Director’s Award, Professional of the Year Award and Aquatic Manager of the Year Award.

“We are thrilled to welcome Steve Neill to the Glenview Park District team,” said Executive Director Michael McCarty. “His extensive experience in managing large-scale recreational facilities and his leadership experience in the field both locally and nationally makes him an ideal fit for this position. We look forward to seeing the positive impact he will make in Glenview.”
