Glenview Park District Swears in Two New Park Board Commissioners
The Glenview Park District swore in new Park Board Commissioners Jen Adams and Kimberly Vazquez at the board meeting on Thursday, May 25. Both commissioners were elected on April 4 in an uncontested election and will serve six-year terms. They replace retiring Commissioners Dan Peterson, who served on the board for 12 years, and Jen Roberts, who served six years. Dave Dillon, who has served on the Park Board since 2015, took over as Board President as Joe Sullivan’s year-long appointment ended.
Jen Adams will serve on the Youth Sports Affiliate and Special Revenue Facilities committees. Kimberly Vazquez will serve on the Park and Facility Services and Environmental Committee and the Recreation, Swimming Pools and Museums and Historical Preservation Committee.
Jen Adams graduated from Lake College with degrees in business and accounting, and is a Certified Public Accountant. Jen has lived in Glenview for ten years. She has three children and loves fitness, wine and French fries.
“I decided to run for Park Board Commissioner because I have a passion for our parks and programs,” said Adams. “Access to high-quality outdoor space and recreation are essential for building healthy and vibrant communities.”
Vazquez grew up in Park Ridge and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from St. Mary’s College, Notre Dame, and a law degree from DePaul University. Kimberly has lived in Glenview for five years. In her free time, Kimberly enjoys spending time with her family and playing paddle tennis, and is learning to play golf.
“I want to help support our community by helping to establish or maintain services for the people our Park District serves,” said Vazquez.
“I’m excited to welcome Kimberly and Jen and to bring new perspectives to our Park Board of Commissioners,” said Michael McCarty, Glenview Park District Executive Director.
