Folk Fest

Local history comes to life at The Grove.

Costumed interpreters relive local history while visitors celebrate autumn with folk music, square dancing, hayrides and more. Dine on hearty food in the outdoor dining hall or enjoy a nature walk along the trails. Shop unique items from local vendors and artisans.

Glenview Farmers Market

Shop for seasonal fruits and vegetables, delightful flowers, homemade jellies and preserves, artisan breads, meat, cheese, eggs and other locally-produced items. Visit community information booths, and enjoy live entertainment and activities for kids.

Free parking at St. Peter and Paul Church (corner of Lake and Wagner Roads).

New Discovery Room Grand Opening

Explore the new Discovery Room at The Grove! Join us for a free community grand opening celebration and open house. The Discovery Room includes a replica of Robert Kennicott’s skeleton, a large multi-species landform exhibit, enhancement of the current scavenger hunt exhibit, interactive discovery table, welcoming kiosks, and framing of existing animal exhibits.

The Discover Room renovation was funded through a $375,000 Illinois Public Museum Capital grant, and designed by Bluestone and Associates.

A public presentation & dedication will be held at 10 a.m. Enjoy a free open house with activities, giveaways, & more from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Fall Restoration Work Days at The Grove

Make a positive change by assisting in restoration efforts by such as removing non-native plants or collection seed. Please bring work gloves if you have them and wear sturdy shoes and long pants. Volunteers under 15 must participate with an adult. Registration is not necessary, but RSVPs are appreciated! Email groverestoration@glenviewparks.org for more information including availability.

Yappy Hour Series: Howl-O-Ween (dog park members only)

Community Bark West will be hosting three exciting FREE events exclusively for dog park members. Not a dog park member? Click here for more info to join! Treat your pup to some special dog treats for “trick-or-treat” fun and let them socialize with other furry pals. Participate in a costume contest for a chance to win a free dog membership for next year! Events are for dog park members only – make sure to bring your membership card to scan at the entrance.

Halloween SKELEbration!

Get in the Halloween spirit with our family-friendly Halloween party! Join us inside for inflatables, DJ, face painting, creepy crafts, a new trick-or-treating route and more! Outside, there will be ghoulish games, entertainment and cozy hayrides around Gallery Park (weather permitting). Costumes are encouraged. The event is designed for ages 2-12 years old; parents must accompany their children.

Assist in the restoration efforts at Kent Fuller Air Station Prairie by helping with a variety of restoration activities such as removing non-native invasive plants or collecting seed. Bring work gloves if you have them. For families and individuals Ages 8+. Volunteers under 15 must participate with an adult. Volunteers under 18 must have a waiver signed by a parent or guardian. Moonlight Masqurade Walk

Don your Halloween costumes where adventure and creativity come together under the starlit sky. Before the hike begins, you’ll have the opportunity to personalize your flashlight by cutting and placing figures with colored gels. Bring your own flashlight!

New! 1920s Film - The Cabinet of Doctor Caligari

Celebrate the spooky season with popcorn and watch a surreal silent horror movie from the 1920’s – The Cabinet of Doctor Caligari. The Farm will provide the popcorn along with an educational commentary before the film begins.

Frozen Frights

Join the Glenview Community Ice Center for a special evening public session with a Halloween theme, open to all. Dress up in your costume and enjoy a cosmic skate with special lights and glow sticks under the disco ball from 8:30-9:50 p.m.

Other activities include:

A Family Halloween at Historic Wagner Farm

Yee haw! Get in the spirit with a kid-friendly Halloween bash farm-style! Dress up in your favorite costume and enjoy a haunted wagon ride, pumpkin games and spooky fun! Note: Tickets must be purchased in advance and will NOT be available for purchase at the door.

Grove Trick or Treat Trail

Take a journey along the haunted paths at The Grove on the spookiest night of the year! Trick or treat at all nine doors of the Historic 1856 Kennicott House and throughout The Grove. Along the way, you’ll collect candy and prizes from frightfully fun characters at entertaining and interactive stations.

This one-of-a-kind event combines Halloween magic with the beauty of nature at night. Encounter live critters, take home a pumpkin, and enjoy a spooktacular evening the whole family will love!

Costumes encouraged – Dress up and join the fun!

Special trick-or-treat bags provided – No need to bring your own.

Allergy-friendly treats available – Look for the teal pumpkins for non-food treats! Learn more about the Teal Pumpkin Project.

Limited tickets are available at the door. Adults not participating in trick-or treating do not need to pay or register. Ages 12 and under must be accompanied by an adult.
