Indigenous People's Day

Indigenous Peoples’ Day is a holiday in the United States that celebrates and honors indigenous American peoples and commemorates their histories and cultures. What better way to celebrate this day than to visit The Grove’s Native American Village and tour the Long House and learn about the history of the Indigenous peoples and their history in our region? Participate in activities like learning how to grind corn and start a fire with a bow drill, Native American games, and see a display of historic Native American tools and other implements.

Stick around for the Indigenous Drum Demonstration, 5:30-7 pm and immerse yourself in the sights and sounds of Native American Indian culture. Please RSVP for the drum demonstration – email Diane.Michalski@glenviewparks.org or call 847-299-6096.
