US Speedskating & Northbrook Speed Skating Club Tour of Olympians

Join US Speedskating and Northbrook Speed Skating Club for their Tour of Olympians event at Glenview Community Ice Center. Public will be invited to join Speedskating Olympians and current local Speedskaters on the ice to try on speedskates, participate in live demonstrations of off-ice exercises, and meet representatives from local and national speed skating clubs. Participating athletes include:

• 3X Olympian and Olympic Bronze Medalist Emery Lehman, Long Track (hometown Oak Park, IL)
• 2022 Olympian Austin Kleba, Long Track (hometown Campton Hills, IL)
• 2022 Olympian Andrew Heo, Short Track
• 2022 Olympian and Olympic Bronze Medalist Ethan Cepuran, Long Track (hometown Glen Ellyn, IL)
• 3X Olympian and Olympic Silver Medalist Brian Hansen, Long Track (hometown Glenview, IL)
• 2X Olympian Dave Tamburrino, Long Track
• 2X Olympian Chuck Burke, Long Track (hometown Northbrook, IL)
• Plus other past Olympians with roots in the Chicago area

On-Ice activities are 3:20-4:20 pm.

Special Earth Day Programs

Have a day off from school or work on Friday, April 15? Join us for some special programs at Air Station Prairie and the Tyner Center in honor of Earth Day. You’ll learn about this unique site, the plants and animals that call it home and ways to reduce your impact on our planet.

BIRDS OF ILLINOIS • 9-10 am
Take a guided walk to learn about the birds that live at Air Station Prairie. For ages 4-5 + Adult.
Fee (R/NR): $12/$15

GOING GREEN! • 10-11:30 am
Discover what happens to recyclable material after it gets picked up. For ages 8+.
Fee (R/NR): $8/$10

SPRING PRAIRIE WALK • 1:30-3 pm
Take a guided trail walk to identify native plants and animals. For all ages.

Park Partnership Celebration

Join the Glenview Park District and Glenview Bank & Trust on Saturday, April 23rd from 1 to 3 p.m. to kick-off a multi-year park partnership and celebrate Community Banking Month. Stop by Park Center for complimentary food and drink, games, prizes and giveaways. The event is free and open to the public, and registration is not required.
