Frozen Frights • October 17

6:30 – 8:30 p.m. at the Glenview Community Ice Center • What’s spooky, chilly and tons of fun? Glen-BOO Community Ice Center! Dress up in your costume and enjoy a Halloween-themed cosmic skate with special lights and glow sticks under the disco ball. Admission: Free with a Season Public Skate Pass or $10 per skater. Children 3 and under skate free with a paying adult. Skates: $4, or FREE when you come dressed in costume

Halloween SKELEbration • October 24 • Presented by Graber & Gyllenhaal Orthodontics

5:30 – 8 p.m. at the Park Center (2400 Chestnut Ave.) • Get Ready for a Spooktacular Night! Calling all little ghouls, goblins and skeletons (ages 2–12)! Put on your favorite costume and join us for a fang-tastic evening of fright-free fun at our indoor/outdoor Halloween bash! Costumes are encouraged and smiles are guaranteed. Parents must accompany children.

A Family Halloween • October 26

1920s Film: The Phantom of the Opera • October 10

7-9 p.m. at the Historic Wagner Farm Sales Shed • Join us for a night of popcorn watching the 1925 classic – The Phantom of the Opera. The Farm will provide the popcorn along with an educational commentary before the film begins.   Fee: $4 per person. Creatures of the Night • October 10

6-7:30 p.m. at The Grove • (7-12 Years) Join us for special nighttime animal encounters as we explore the mysterious and often misunderstood world of nocturnal wildlife. Set off on a guided tour to meet our nocturnal and crepuscular creatures. Discover the amazing adaptations of nocturnal animals and see the nature center come alive in a whole new light. Fee: R/NR $14/16

Autumn Roasts & Rides • October 10 & 17

At Historic Wagner Farm • Time Slots – 5:15 p.m. • 5:45 p.m. • 6:15 p.m. • 6:45 p.m.   Cozy up around the fire for an evening of sweet fall memories! Roast marshmallows, build the perfect s’more and then hop aboard a tractor-drawn wagon for a scenic ride through the pasture as the sun sets over the farm.   Fee: $12 per person. Hayrides at The Grove • October 11 & 17

At The Grove • Time Slots available: 5 p.m. – 8 p.m. Gather up your friends and family and climb aboard our hay wagon for a fun-filled journey to explore The Grove. Creepy Crawly Prairie Animals • October 18

10-11 a.m. at The Grove • (4+ Years plus Adult) Learn about spiders, snakes, and other “spooky” animals that make the prairie their home. We’ll search the trails for signs of all these animals and learn about how they are getting ready for winter. Participants must be accompanied by an adult. Please register each guardian/child separately.

Forest Rot Walk • October 22

5:30-7 p.m. at The Grove • (5-8 Years) Take a closer look at the wild world of decomposition! This fun hike turns gross into great as we explore through hands-on activities how dead things break down and feed the forest. We’ll discover nature’s recyclers—fungi, insects, and bacteria—and learn how decay helps keep the forest alive. Fee: R/NR $10/12

6:30 p.m. – 8 p.m. at The Grove • Gather around the fire this Halloween season for Hops & Haunts—a chillingly fun night out for adults. Enjoy local craft beer under the stars as our storytellers share eerie legends, unsettling true tales, and spine-tingling folklore by the flicker of the campfire. It’s a casual evening of haunted history and nature’s mysteries, perfect for those who like their brews with a side of boo. Costumes optional, courage encouraged.
