Restoration Work Day- Grove Summer 2026

Make a positive change by assisting in restoration efforts such as removing non-native plants or collecting seed. Please bring work gloves if you have them and wear sturdy shoes and long pants. Volunteers under 15 must participate with an adult. Registration is necessary. Email groverestoration@glenviewparks.org for more information including availability.

Ellie and Danny Weekend - Wine Night

Experience an exclusive weekend with Team USA gold medalist Olympic Pair, Ellie Kam and Danny O’Shea. Ellie and Danny will mingle with guests at Wine Night and work with skaters during two on-ice workshops.

Enjoy a special evening of conversation with Ellie and Danny, hosted in the Glenview Community Ice Center Great Hall. Your ticket includes two drink tickets, heavy hors d’oeuvres and a raffle ticket. Guests must be 21 or older.

Get Out and Go Treasure Hunt

Get the family out and go on a nature-inspired treasure hunt! Follow the treasure map to search for hidden clues while exploring the natural areas of Gallery Park and Kent Fuller Air Station Prairie. Walk or ride your bicycle from Park Center to Air Station Prairie and earn stamps for answering questions about discoveries you make along the way.

Pick up your treasure map at Park Center any time between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. The Hunt takes one hour to complete, and the event concludes at 3 p.m.

Please note: The scavenger hunt ends at a different location than it starts. If you parked at the starting point (Park Center), you’ll need to walk back to your car after finishing. (Route distance: 0.84 miles one way; Round trip: 1.68 miles)

Pioneer Day

Pack your sense of adventure and step back in time at Pioneer Day at The Grove! You’ll bring the 1800s pioneer experience to life as you follow your map and travel along The Grove’s trails. At each stop on your “road trip”, you’ll immerse yourself in pioneer life with hands-on activities and historical encounters.

Activities Include:

  • Hands-on activities like candle dipping, tin punching and pioneer chores
  • Play old-fashioned pioneer games and enjoy music from the past
  • Meet reenactors from a Civil War-era Army Corps of Engineers and learn about their important contributions

Note: Timed entry tickets are available every 15 minutes starting at 11:00 AM. The final admission is at 2:00 PM, and the event concludes at 3:00 PM. Be sure to select your preferred time when purchasing tickets online.

International Mud Day Celebration

Get down and dirty with The Grove!

Join in the fun of International Mud Day (IMD), an annual global celebration to encourage children and adults to get outside, connect with nature and embrace the joy of playing in the mud. Discover the vital role soil, dirt and mud (yes, they are all related!) play in maintaining healthy ecosystems and supporting life on our planet.

The Grove has set up a special Soil Scientist exploration area where kids – and kids at heart – can build, dig, scoop, shape and squish while exploring the magical properties of mud!

Join us for the best celebration on the North Shore! Our bike parade begins at Jackman Park at 11:15 a.m., followed by the full parade at 11:20 a.m. which steps off at the corner of Harlem and Glenview Road. Join us at Gallery Park at 6 p.m. for a DJ dance party, food vendors, live music and a fireworks finale to cap the evening.
