Glenview Children’s Theatre

Each fall and winter, the Glenview Children’s Theatre (GCT) offers students in grades 4-7 the opportunity to audition for, rehearse and perform a musical theatre production. All children must participate in an acting and singing audition. Three separate casts will be chosen and appear in two performances each. Those cast must pay a $195 participation fee to help cover the costs of the production. Fee also includes a rehearsal CD for every cast member. All auditions, rehearsals and performances will be held at Park Center, 2400 Chestnut Ave. Call Amber Blake at (224) 521-2558 for info.
Winter Production: Breaking Out
Lori Greenwood had big plans this summer, but she found out she was going to Theatre Camp 100 miles away! Her annoying sister has been going to the camp for years and is not happy Lori is going. Lori’s parents are afraid she won’t ever make real friends and think going to camp will break her out of her shell. When Lori gets to camp, she finds out it’s a lot worse than she ever imagined. A strict director and a bunch of kids who think she’s weird make Lori want to get out of theatre camp as fast as she can. She might think twice when she gets trapped outside of the auditorium on a stormy summer night. This original musical was written by Randy Satovitz and Peter Dolson especially for GCT!
