Important Upcoming Dates

  • August 29, 2011 - Completed Preschool Student Info Forms due
  • Week of August 29, 2011 - Meet’ n’ Greet for 3′s and 4′s. Parents will receive a Welcome Letter in the mail from the child’s teacher. It will list the specific date/time for the individual class open house
  • August 30, 2011 - Coffee for 2′s Parents, 6:30-7:30 pm, Room 122
  • August 31, 2011 - Preschool Parent Orientation, 6:30-7:30 pm, Lakeview Room (Adults only)
  • Sept. 6, 2011 – Preschool begins; completed Student Health Forms must be submitted by first day of class in order for student to be admitted to class
  • Week of May 14, 2012 - Pre-K’s graduation
  • May 18, 2012 - Preschool ends

Preschool Parking Information

Permitted Preschool Parking

Vehicles: We are pleased to inform you that we have additional parking available Monday-Friday from 8:45 am-1 pm in the Attea School lot on the west side of Park Center. We have a spacious sidewalk from this parking lot, along the north side of Park Center, leading to the courtyard lobby entrance. These doors are also electronic to accommodate strollers. The preschool doors adjacent to the playground will remain locked to ensure security throughout our day. So park in the west lot and enjoy the scenic walkway.

Strollers: Our preschool hall gets very congested with all of the little ones coming and going to class. Please help our traffic problem by not bringing strollers in the hallway by the classroom and cubby lockers. But more importantly, fire codes dictate the hall must be kept clear. Strollers must be parked in the hallway before you enter the preschool wing of the building by classroom 122. Signs will be posted. We appreciate your help in this matter.

Weather-Related Class Cancellation

For seasonal weather situations of any kind (including cancellations due to bus service and weather conditions), you are advised to check the School District 34 website: www.glenview34.org. If District 34 has cancelled school, then Park Center Preschool classes are cancelled. A decision on whether to cancel other Glenview Park District Early Childhood classes at Park Center or other park district facilities will be made on a case by case basis.You may also check the Glenview Park District website: www.glenviewparks.org and local TV and radio stations for the cancellation information. TV and radio will not specifically mention Park Center Preschool or the Glenview Park District. Listen for Glenview School District 34 closings. For unusual or unexpected closings at Park Center, a phone call will be made to households enrolled in these programs. We understand some do not belong to the District 34 school system or do not have older children in the district, so we remind you of the above for your convenience.
