Picnics at the Glenview Park District
Whether it’s you and your kids taking sandwiches to the park or a company outing with brats, ball games and bonding, there’s nothing like a picnic at the Glenview Park District! Before you plan yours, here are some things you should know:
Picnics for Groups of 10 or Less
Any group of 10 people or less may picnic in any of the Glenview Park District’s parks without obtaining a permit.
Picnics for Groups of More Than 10 (w/o Fieldhouse Rental)
Any group of more than 10 people who wish to picnic in a Glenview Park District Park without a fieldhouse must obtain a free picnic permit at Park Center, 2400 Chestnut Ave.
Picnics for Groups of More Than 10 (w/ Fieldhouse Rental)
Groups of more than 10 people who wish to picnic at one of the Glenview Park District parks with a fieldhouse must pay the applicable rental fee to have use of the park fieldhouse facilities (restrooms, charcoal grill, picnic tables). For complete details on fieldhouse rentals, click here.
Use of Ballfields
All sports fields, courts and playgrounds are open to the public and not included as part of a fieldhouse rental.
General Park Rules
- Park hours are 9 am to dusk.
- No alcoholic beverages are allowed within the parks.
- No loudspeakers, public address systems or amplifiers may be used within the parks.
- No dogs are permitted within the parks. Dog on leash are permitted on paved pathways only in the following parks: Countryside, Cunliff, Diederich, Flick, Hawthorne Glen, Indian Trail, Ladendorf, Rugen and Sleepy Hollow Parks and on the perimeter walkways at Roosevelt Park, Swenson Park, West Fork Park, and Community Park West.
